About
First and most importantly, this website is not intended to offend anyone – except maybe the illogical people who seem to have nothing better to do than dream up the most random of objects to ban in the guise of them being considered offensive. Seriously, do they really think that this is actually going to help our often fragile, diverse society integrate and become one big, happy family?
Why call this protest website ‘The Offensive Pig’? Isn’t that offensive?
No. It’s a pig. How can any animal be offensive? Pigs are farmyard animals – one of God’s own creations. Suggesting that any animal could be offensive is ludicrous – how many animals do you know who go out of their way to offend people? It’s entirely possible for people to be offensive, but not animals. In some some religions the pig is considered to be a dirty animal and it is believed that it would contaminate everything it comes into contact with, and in other circles the pig is bred to be eaten. Not once has a single animal ever been banned because eating them is offensive to some vegetarians/vegans and I doubt that there are many veggies who would consider trying to make that happen. Similarly, I very much doubt that any religion that shuns pigs has considered starting a movement to ban them. On another note, I can’t think of a single parent who doesn’t want their child to learn about one of the commonest farm animals in this country.
The Offensive Pig is not just about pigs, it’s a metaphor for all ridiculous bannings and suggested bannings – and we aim to cover them all to highlight the pointlessness of this bureaucratical non-sense. We chose The Offensive Pig because that’s what the petty catalyst of this website actually was, believe it or not – a child’s toy pig that was removed from a barnyard set.
What’s behind all this?
We believe that a vast majority of people who are deemed to be ‘offended’ by any banned object must be cringing everytime something else has been pointed at to be banned. Not just because it’s intrinsically stupid but because they have a real fear that other people might find it yet another reason to impart resentful or harbour any more negative or even racist feelings towards them. I can’t believe that any ‘offended’ people or group would call for something silly to be banned because of the backlash they may encounter – why would anyone want to put themselves in a position that could so easily backfire and end up with them being made to feel uncomfortable because of it?
None of us at The Offensive Pig believe that any of the affected people have been asked their opinion in any of these cases, mainly because of the illogical nature of the banning.
We invite everyone – including anyone who is labelled ‘offended’ to join our tongue-in-cheek, “don’t be silly”, campaign. We hope this will unite all denominations of ordinary people with a common sense of humour whilst proving a timely point that if we banned everything that could be found to be offensive to someone, the human race would quickly disappear.
We believe that all this politically correct nonsense actively creates bad feeling between different cultures – and that has to stop.
At long last – maybe for the first time ever – the good citizens of this country have something in common to stick together over. These do-gooders are offending practically everyone by constantly finding something else they feel needs to be banned. The cynic in me suggests it was probably a publicity stunt in the case of The Offensive Pig – which is even more stupid in my opinion. Their free bit of publicity could easily have incited racial unrest, even to a small degree, and driven the wedge just that bit deeper. I don’t suppose they care though, it’s probably resulting in a fat payrise.

I have an idea, can we ban idiocy? Idiots offend far more people than pigs do and it’s nothing to do with racism…
